User Guide

Learn how to use all MasterAudio features to get the best results.

🚀 Getting Started

1

Go to masteraudio.cloud/app and click Continue with Google. You'll be redirected to the Google sign-in page.

2

Select your Google account. First-time sign-in will bring you to the plan selection screen — choose a plan to start your free trial.

3

Once in the app, you'll see the interface with a header showing your name and plan badge.

Uploading Audio

Drag and drop a file into the upload area or click to browse. MasterAudio supports:

  • MP3 — any bitrate (128kbps to 320kbps)
  • WAV — 16-bit, 24-bit, 32-bit float
  • FLAC — lossless
  • M4A / AAC — from iPhone or GarageBand
💡 Tip: For best results, use WAV 24-bit or FLAC instead of MP3 when possible.

⚙ Master — Automatic Mastering

The Master tab is MasterAudio's core feature. All processing happens in the browser via the Web Audio API.

Presets

Choose a preset that matches your genre:

  • Balanced — works for any genre
  • Pop / Vocal — bright, clear vocals
  • Hip-hop / Trap — heavy bass, punch
  • EDM / Electronic — wide stereo, dynamic
  • Acoustic / Folk — natural, light processing
  • Lo-fi — warm, vintage

Manual Parameters

  • Loudness Target — output loudness in LUFS (-14 for Spotify, -16 for YouTube)
  • Stereo Width — widen or narrow the stereo image
  • High Shelf / Low Shelf — boost or cut overall treble/bass
  • Compression — dynamics, attack, release
  • Reverb — add room ambience

Exporting

Click Master & Download to process and save your file. Output is WAV 32-bit float at the original sample rate. The filename preserves the original name (up to the first "-" if present).

⚠ Note: The Master feature runs entirely in the browser — your file is never sent to a server. Do not close the tab while processing.

🎤 Stems — Vocal & Beat Separation

The Stems tab uses Meta Research's Demucs htdemucs AI model to separate vocals and instrumentals with high accuracy.

How to Use

1

Select the 🎤 Stems tab and upload your track (MP3 or WAV).

2

Click Separate Stems — the file is sent to the Demucs server. Processing takes 1–5 minutes depending on track length.

3

When done, you receive two files: vocals.mp3 (vocal part) and no_vocals.mp3 (instrumental).

💡 Tip: Stem separation works best with tracks that have clear, prominent vocals and minimal complex harmonies.

File Size & Duration Limits

  • Maximum file size: 150 MB
  • Recommended: ≤ 15 minutes for fast, reliable results
  • Maximum safe duration: ~40 minutes (≈ 100 MB at 320kbps)
  • Files longer than 40 minutes risk an out-of-memory error (code -9)
To split a long file into shorter parts, use Audacity (free) or any audio editor before uploading.

Batch Stems

Use Batch Stems to process multiple files at once. Upload several files, click Start All, and the system processes them sequentially. The same file size limits apply per file.

🎙 Vocal Humanizer

The Humanizer tab is designed specifically to make AI-generated vocals (Suno, Udio, etc.) sound more natural and human.

Warmth & Tone

  • Warmth — adds harmonics to warm up the vocal (WaveShaper)
  • Chest EQ (250Hz) — boost or cut the chest resonance band for body
  • DeHarsh (4kHz) — reduce harsh, abrasive frequencies
  • Air (12kHz) — add brightness and air in the high treble

Doubling / Haas Effect

Classic studio technique: double the vocal with a slight pitch-shift and delay to create natural stereo width.

  • Delay (ms) — delay time for the double (15–35ms)
  • Cents — pitch shift of the double (±5–15¢)
  • Width — left/right pan amount
  • Mix — blend between the dry and doubled signal

De-esser

Automatically reduces heavy sibilance (S, Sh, Ch sounds) in AI vocals.

  • Threshold — de-esser activation level (dBFS)
  • Frequency — target sibilance frequency (default 7.5kHz)
  • Range — maximum reduction (dB)
  • Ratio — compression ratio when threshold is exceeded
💡 Recommended workflow: Separate vocals with the Stems tab → Process through Humanizer → Master the final mix.

🎛 EQ & Effects

The EQ tab provides a 10-band parametric EQ and a full effects chain.

10-Band EQ

Drag points on the EQ graph or adjust sliders to boost/cut individual frequency bands:

  • 32Hz, 64Hz, 125Hz — sub-bass and bass
  • 250Hz, 500Hz — low-mid, warmth
  • 1kHz, 2kHz — mid presence
  • 4kHz, 8kHz — low treble, clarity
  • 16kHz — air, brightness

Effects

  • Reverb — size, decay, wet/dry mix
  • Delay — time, feedback, mix
  • Chorus — rate, depth, mix
  • Stereo Width — M/S processing to widen the stereo field
  • Saturation — gentle harmonic distortion for warmth

📦 Batch Processing

Process multiple files at once with a single preset — ideal for mastering an entire album or EP.

How to Use

1

Upload multiple files at once by selecting them all or dragging them into the upload zone.

2

Choose a preset or adjust settings. These settings will apply to every file in the batch.

3

Click Process All — the system processes each file in sequence and downloads them automatically. Output filenames match the originals.

⚠ Note: Do not close the tab while a batch is running. For optimal performance, avoid opening many other tabs simultaneously.

🎬 Video Extractor

The Video tab lets you extract audio directly from online videos. Once downloaded, you can send the audio to Master, Stems, or download it as MP3 / WAV.

Supported Platforms

  • YouTube — all public videos
  • TikTok — public videos
  • Facebook — public watch videos
  • Bilibili — public videos
  • Douyinsee note below
  • Youku — public videos

How to Use

1

Switch to the 🎬 Video tab and paste the video URL into the input field.

2

Click Extract Audio. A progress bar shows download and conversion status.

3

When extraction completes, four action buttons appear: → Master, → Stems, ↓ MP3, ↓ WAV.

💡 Tip: Extracted audio files are automatically deleted from the server after 72 hours. Download what you need before then.

Video Duration & Size Limits

  • Recommended: ≤ 60 minutes
  • Maximum audio file size: 200 MB (auto-enforced)
  • Videos longer than ~2.5 hours may be automatically rejected
  • If you intend to use the audio for stem separation, keep it ≤ 40 minutes

Why Some Videos Fail — and How to Fix It

Platforms like YouTube use bot-detection. If you see "Download failed", it usually means the server needs your browser cookies to verify that you are a real logged-in user.

Adding Your Own Cookies

1

Install the "Get cookies.txt LOCALLY" extension in Chrome or Edge:

🔗 Cài extension trên Chrome Web Store
2

Log in to the platform (YouTube, TikTok, etc.) in your browser, then click the extension icon and export cookies for that site in Netscape format → nhấn Copy.

3

In MasterAudio, click your avatar to open My Account. Go to Platform Cookies, choose the platform, paste the cookie text, and click 💾 Save.

4

Your cookies are saved in your browser (localStorage) and automatically sent with the next extract request for that platform.

💡 Tip: Cookies can expire. If downloads start failing again, re-export from the extension and paste the new cookies.
⚠ Douyin (抖音) Note: Douyin blocks download requests from non-Chinese IP addresses regardless of cookies. If you are outside China, Douyin videos are unlikely to work even with valid cookies — this is a platform-level geo-restriction, not a MasterAudio limitation. Try TikTok instead for the same content if available.
